NTC Thermistor
THESE THERMISTORS ARE NTC DISC WITH RADIAL LEADED THERMISTOR WHICH ARE ENCAPSULATED WITH SPECIAL TYPE OF EPOXY. THESE ARE SPECIALLY FORMULATED FOR SUPPRESSING HIGH INRUSH CURRENTS IN SWITHCING POWER SUPPLIES AND OTHER APPLICATIONS WHERE THE HIGH INITIAL STARTING CURRENTS ARE UNDESIRABLE FOR SURGE PROTECTION IN ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT.
These thermistors are used in Electronic Circuit series with filter capacitors. These devices are limit the current flow upto the capacitor get charged due to the high resistance of the thermistor. After charging the capacitor thermistor decreases its resistance value substantialy to a level where the voltage drop accross negligable.
MAXIMUM STEADY STATE CURRENT (I max): Maximum current (DC or RMS AC) can pass through the thermistor without failing its charectristics. The maximum steady state current is measured in our thermistor for a maximum of 55ðC ambiant.
RESISTANCE AT MAXIMUM CURRENT (RI max): The approximate resistance of the thermistor at mximum steady state current.
